Yesterday Vlad and I went to the pool for a few hours. We were coming back up to the apartment in the elevator. We shared it with a mom, dad and two little kids. One boy and one girl. The girl was about four. After a few seconds of riding in relative silence, she walked two feet or so away from her dad towards Vlad, put her hands on her hips, looked up at him and said, “Your high”.
At that moment we had reached the floor that they were getting off on. As they were leaving, the dad said, “For the record, she means that you’re tall”.
Cracked me up for hours.

Why my last riveting entry disappeared is and internet mystery that probably won’t be solved. It’s too bad too because it was way interesting. All about sickness, pain, doctors, medicine, decrepedness. It was like a really exciting episode of the Golden Girls.
So I’ll just skip all that and happily report to you that I’m almost 100% again. I’ve also discovered that cough syrup with codiene is very, very nice. Andy and I had a debate as to what “take two table spoons every six hours” or “as needed” really means. He contends that “as needed” means you don’t have to take it if you don’t need it. My take on “as needed” is if you think you need it, then you take it. I know how to speak English. Geesh. It just so happened that I needed the whole bottle over the course of two days.
I am now doing one of my favorite activities. I am wrapped up in a nest of blankets and pillows in the middle of the living room floor watching a terrible Sci-Fi movie about Gargoyles.

I am tired of this sickness. Enough already.

Sickness is really begining to wear me down. Today my strategy is to knock myself out. I have been drinking nyqul like water, eating cough drops by the bag full and have taken two ill gotten valiums. I just want to sleep and let my body fix itself.
take my mind of this. Tell me something interesting about you.

I’ve gotten my voice back but am coughing a dry hacking cough that is starting to explode the blood vessels in the front of my head, feels like razor blades in my throat and I think is going to make it difficult to sleep if it goes on.
I’ve continued on my rehabilitation schedule of long hours of television interspersed with laying out by the pool. I’ve come to the conclusion the television is more insidious than I once thought and my skin is a little crispy, even though I sat under an umbrella for most of my time outside.
That is all to report. Well really, there is more to report but, you know, uh, The Simpsons are on.

I am mute. It’s irritating but also somewhat relaxing. I need to somehow bring this sense of contented complacency to my non sick life. My throat doesn’t hurt much, but I’m pretty wiped out. Tomorrow is day four of being sick, I think the last one.
That is all to report from the white, puffy bed.

I’m back in the Vegas, white puffy bed. I’ve lost my voice, have a sore throat and may have coughed up at least one lung this morning. I figure, it will just take a few more countries and I’ll be immune to almost anything.
On the upside, this gives me an actual reason to be laying in the bed. Now I can watch the Sci Fi channel for the rest of the day, guilt free. Coming tonight at nine….Ice Spiders. It’s almost worth the discomfort.

I’m in San Diego, leaving for Vegas in a few hours.
I’m glad I was out of the country for Paris’ struggle. I didn’t even really know anything was going on.
So was it/is it one of those things like OJ when ten years from now I can say, oh, “Yeah, I remember that. I was eating fish tacos in Ensenada when she went to jail”.
By the way, what were you doing when that infamous, white bronco was cruising down the highway?

I’m sitting on the couch listening to Cat Power missing my husband madly. I’m leaving for SD tomorrow morning early. I’m going to try for dawn, but that might be a bit lofty of a goal.
Yesterday, more Beer Fest. Today, Futbol at the sportsbar. Beer and sports? I need to get back to San Diego quick so I can talk to Nova Bella about makeup and celebrity gossip.

It’s ten thirty and I’m finally awake. It was nice to sleep in afer a week of getting up at 7 am. Last night we stayed out late for Beer Fest. Since I’m not that fond of beer, the fest was interesting only for a little while. We ate Japanese fast food and drank different kinds of beer while we listened to live bands.
I’m not sure if I’m coming back to San Diego today or tomorrow. Mostly I want to figure out when is the best time not to have to wait for three hours at the boarder. Coming in, you don’t even have to stop or answer any questions. Coming out is a much different story. Waiting three hours in my car in the heat while people try to me sell me dumb stuff doesn’t sound attractive.

As you can see, many of the things that I’m learning in Ensenada, I’ve already learned in college. It’s fun to revisit my youth while having all the knowledge of my years. It’s a good thing I’m not a fan of weed because this house is a stoners dream. Tomorrow is my last day of school. I’m learning alot and am really glad I came here. New knowledge, new friends beautiful weather and great memories.

Before I started posting pictures of Ensenada, I thought I’d post this. It was taken on a typical day of betting baseball in the mobile unit that we like to call the Honda Element. Before I left, doing a bunch of this and then eating a buffet at the Gold Coast casino was pretty much the daily schedule.

Spanish school is a little like boot camp. At least for the last half of the day. It’s like good cop bad cop. In the morning the teacher speaks slowly and writes things on the wipey board. In the afternoon it’s high speed spanish, with no english to help. The questions are repeated over with hand gestures unitl something clicks. Although the afternoon session is only an hour and a half. Even though it’s nerve racking and frustrating, everyone is nice. I like it alot.
Also, Ensenada is great. It’s like a cross between in LA without all the tall buildings, rude people and smog and a college town. People are really nice and laid back here. Josh my CS host has introuduced me to all of his friends and now I’m just another “kid” hanging out on the couch. I feel like I’m reliving my college days with the three foot bong as a cener piece of the coffee table and the twenty feet of dishes towering in the sink.
I told Josh I would buy a bottle of rum if he did all the dishes so I could cook something healthy to eat tomorrow.
