Hiker Oasis Water Cache

Yesterday we had jet fighters flying BELOW us doing top-gun type manuvers. It was amazing. Cindy had a rough day yesterday, but she’s doing MUCH better today. Tomorrow we eat breakfast at Paradise Cafe!

Hi everyone this is their webmaster Kevin.   Here’s a video where you can see them leave for the PCT,  enjoy.

The Last Starbucks.

We’re on the way to Campo. Launch in 30 minutes.

It’s 5:35 am. We are five minutes off scheduled launch. This is the last time I will see my Macbook Air for about five months. I feel a little sad about it. It’s like I’m leaving a faithful pet behind. I’d like to write more about all my deep feelings and philosophical leanings but, Andy [...]

We were supposed to leave today. There are two things that made us postpone our launch until tomorrow. One, we wanted to have one day to calm down a little from running around and two, we received a snow report letting us know that the section of our hike after [...]

Olive Oil Party Time

repackaging olive oil, originally uploaded by cindigodotcom.

Packing is going well. We made a last minute change and added more olive oil in reaction to “granola gate”. Andy is working on the taxes and should be done in the hour. The albatross Cadillac has been dealt with. It’s either being sold to an interested party tomorrow [...]

T-minus four days (maybe five)

jumping for joy,
originally uploaded by cindigodotcom.

I had the assembly line ready. Puffed rice, salt, vanilla extract. I bought twelve pounds of almonds and made them into flour. The main ingredient for the next wave of granola should have arrived by now. I typed the tracking number into my browser. Status, delivered…..to Las Vegas.
Oh (insert a [...]

Still Packing

rations, originally uploaded by cindigodotcom.

Six days until departure. We’ve been spending all of our time re bagging food, taking care of last minute details and vacillating wildly between exhaustion and elation. Tonight, we’re weighing and updating our gear list, and I just finished addressing all the mailing labels for the 29 boxes of food. We [...]
