500 Miles and Giardia
Good news and bad!
As you can probably tell, we’ve made it 500 miles. Hoorah for us.
After a little research that I should have done sooner, I seem to have just about every symptom of Giardia. To add to the comedy of errors, it turns out that the antibiotic that we’ve been carrying for just such a situation (Cipro) is not a treatment for Giardia. Thanks, Doc.
Unfortunately, I found this out after taking the first pill, so I’m probably committed to the whole series. Well, if I have a secondary bacterial infection I guess that’ll get wiped out by the Cipro!
Now, I have to find out how to get Flagyl on the trail, hopefully at the upcoming Hikertown Hostel.
