New Loft Bed

Our Loft Bed

Our Loft Bed,
originally uploaded by cindigodotcom.

I’m typing this while laying very close to the ceiling in our new loft bed. This was one of my ideas that while under construction I was pretty nervous about, but the end result I think is awesome. Although a higher side rail is in order….I would really feel stupid breaking a leg, or worse dying by falling out of bed.

    Ahh…the loft bed…brings back memories of college and a Commodore 128 with blazing 300 baud internet speeds. I like the ladder for going up, but wouldn’t a fireman pole be a cool way to get down? Or a curly slide? That’s the way to start your day!

  • My last search on ebay was for stripper poles.

    Kit Includes:

    * Heavy duty steel pole. Pole can be used with or without screws.
    * Erotic dance instructional dvd.
    * Black feather boa.
    * Black lace garter.
    * Fake money.

    I emailed the seller and asked if they could include some real money instead.

    Right now, it’s is much easier getting up into the bed than getting down.

  • That looks like the loft bed I had in college. Getting out of bed in the morning was definitely the challenge! I built mine so it was wider than my mattress so that (1) I could keep my book and alarm clock next to my bed and (2) so I had a buffer before hitting the floor should I start to roll out. I never did roll out. It was a great bed.

  • The first night, I couldn’t sleep very well because I kept thinking I was going over. Since Andy switched sides with me it’s the most cozy place ever.

    Yes, getting in and out is a little bit of a pain, but worth it so far. Next we’re putting in the rock climbing wall and the stripper pole.

  • rock climbing wall?!!! AND A STRIPPER POLE!!!???!!! guh… I totally need to move out there.
